About Alicia

Alicia and her four daughters Kiara, Emma, Lauren, and Madison

Alicia has lived in Monroe County since 1989 and has four daughters Kiara, Emma, Lauren, and Madison. They live on the Southside of Bloomington.

Alicia attends Ivy Tech Community College where she has earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice (AS) and an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal (AAS). She graduated from Owen Valley High School in 2000. In 1999, she earned her Nursing Assistant certificate and is certified by the State Board of Health.

Alicia has a wide range of work experience in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Restorative Nursing Aide, Home Health aide and Medical records staff. She worked at Ivy Tech Community College in the marketing department and word processing center and currently on Monroe County Community Schools list as substitute teacher. Alicia works Part-Time for the Monroe County Government.


Volunteering in the community is important to Alicia. Her dedication to giving back to the community is why civic engagement has been a big part of Alicia's life. Alicia has volunteered for the Monroe County Republican party while also serving as President/student founder of the Ivy Tech College Republicans. She was active in the Ivy Tech Student Government Association (SGA) as a student representative for the Paralegal program, criminal justice program, treasurer, and Vice-President of Marketing for SGA while attending Ivy Tech. Alicia also complete the Student Leadership Academy in 2004 while at Ivy Tech.

Alicia has volunteered in the sports department at the YMCA, as a coach/assistant coach and also volunteered in the childcare area. She has been a Girl Scouts leader at Templeton Elemtary. She works with her daughters collecting clothes for the Crisis Pregnancy Center and food for the Hoosier Hills Food bank. Alicia and her four daughters are regular participants in the March of Dimes and Breast Cancer Awareness walks usually requiring a triple stroller to keep up with everyone else.

Alicia was a member of the Monroe County Citizens Academy in 2007. Is a graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum class of 2007 and is looking forward to using these leadership experiences on the city council.
