Alicia Graves, Republican candidate for City Council District 5, said she believes child endangerment is a critical issue for Bloomington.
"Mayor Kruzan and the majority of this city council do not understand one of the most critical issues facing Bloomington's families, and makes no provision for a preventive solution," she said in a release issued Wednesday. "We can do better. The city council should focus on the real issues in Bloomington and prevent child exploitation, molestation, and sexual battery, not pass meaningless resolutions on national policy."
Graves said she discussed the issue with state Attorney General Steve Carter during his recent visit to Bloomington. Her opponent in November is Democrat Isabel Piedmont. The seat currently is occupied by Republican David Sabbagh, who is running for mayor.
